What is a UK Post-Study Work Application?

The Graduate Route (Post-Study Work) allows students who completed a UK degree to remain in the UK to work or look for work after their studies.

Eligibility Criteria

• Valid UK immigration status (digital share code).
• Successfully completed a UK degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD).
• Current Student visa must be valid at the time of application.
• No additional English test required if degree completed in the UK.

Processing Time

• Most applicants receive a visa success email within 24–72 hours after fee and IHS payment.
• Digital immigration status updated shortly after approval.

Stay Duration & Pathway to Settlement

• 18 months for Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates.
• 3 years for PhD graduates.
• Does not directly lead to settlement, but switching to Skilled Worker or Innovator Founder routes is possible.
